Zac entered open auditions to play Hamnet in Chloe Zhao's Hamnet and came 2nd. His older sister Eva also came 2nd to play Hamnet's twin, Judith. Zac and Eva were cast in small speaking roles in the movie, playing the younger brother and sister of Jessie Buckley's character, Agnes Shakespeare. An accomplished photographer, Zac's photos have been published by the Guardian and BBC.
