Sebastian was born into a creative family and has found himself unavoidably intertwined with the arts, film, and other media. After years in front of the camera, Sebastian also chose to pursue a career behind the scenes, receiving his bachelors' degree in Digital Cinema from UVU and working as a video editor, writer, director, and YouTube specialist. Sebastian is also a multi-instrumentalist member and vocalist in Shrink The Giant, an indie-alternative rock band formed with his siblings and other musicians. Sebastian began acting at age 10, when his first role put him front, center, and solo in a PSA commercial promoting optimism as the little hitter who wouldn't quit, which screened on television, online and at Pro Baseball Games. He again took solo and center stage in an interactive website advertisement for OfficeMax called "stucktoapole", created in the era of such internet phenomena as "Elf Yourself." He worked with Timothy J. Nelson on The Assignment (2010), playing Cody, the comic relief, little brother. He played in a role opposite his real sister, Stefania Barr, and Savanna Kylie Lewis as a mysterious ghost boy in Once Upon a Summer (2009). Sebastian again played the role of a ghost boy in Haunt (2013), as the red-headed poltergeist haunting his childhood bedroom. He enjoyed his time in the chair with Sarah Rubano and Joe Dunckley, the SFX makeup artists on Haunt, who shared stories of their experiences on the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit as they transformed him into a bloody and necrotic phantom, Matthew Morello. One of his favorite early roles was working opposite Eric Roberts for a week as father and son in the movie The Wayshower directed by Jsu Garcia. This was a great experience to work with seasoned professionals with many years of experience and insight. Eric and Sebastian enjoyed a great friendship on set that came through on screen. Sebastian used that experience to take his acting and professionalism to the next level. He played the lead role as Tommy in Fifty Cents (2008). Set in the 1950's, this film tackles the age old question, "How do you get the girl?" He plays the enthusiastic and talkative new-arrival missionary in T.C. Christensen's film, Escape from Germany (2024), set in 1939 Germany and based on true events and characters. Sebastian has since written, shot and edited several of his own films, and worked to monetize various creators on YouTube, while continuing his career as an actor, filmmaker and musician.
