Howard J Ford is one of the UK's most prolific independent filmmakers, an award-winning writer and director of eleven feature films and over three hundred TV commercials. His films have been distributed by Sony Pictures, Paramount, Netflix Altitude Films and many other global platforms and cinema releases. His recent feature film: climbing thriller The Ledge, for GFM Films, was given a 1000+ screen theatrical release and was distributed by Paramount/Saban (US) and Signature/Netflix UK, reaching number 6 of all films on Netflix in the UK and selling in every country. Having begun making short films aged just thirteen, Howard directed his first feature film aged twenty-one. Since then, his features as director, include worldwide genre hit's The Dead (2010) and The Dead 2 (2013). Simultaneously Howard has been a successful commercials director working worldwide for agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Lowe Lintas, McCann's & DDB, creating numerous successful and award-winning campaigns for some of the largest global clients. Howard's female driven thriller, Never Let Go(2015), was voted Best Independent Film of 2016 at The National Film Awards. Released by Sony Pictures across North America, it has also been a successful title on Netflix, Amazon Prime and still plays on TV around the world. Howard didn't let the recent global pandemic stop him and during the first UK Lockdown he directed The Lockdown Hauntings (2021), a feature film shot with no crew and with a stellar cast, including Tony Todd. Released both in cinemas and online by UK distributor Altitude Films. 2024 sees the Autumn release of two Ford films. First up, is female-driven survival thriller Escape, with Sarah Alexandra Marks, Sophie Rankin, Sean Cronin and then gripping murder thriller DarkGame, starring Ed Westwick. Howard's eleventh feature, the savage thriller River Of Blood, for Reinvent Studios, has just been shot in Thailand and reunites Howard with actor Joseph Millson, who starred in The Dead movies. Howard is attached to three further feature films in various stages of development.
